Here’s a little sketch for comic book stuff.  The working man in space…and that working man is me apparently.

More space stuff.  Trying out some effects.  Usually you wouldn’t show studies to people…it’s fun to learn how to draw in front of everyone…

Josh wanted more Space so I’m giving him more Space.  I wanted to practice using Photoshop masks to create a similar effect these guys get in their spray paint paintings, but I wanted it to be a bit more realistic.  I may do a few more of these before the month is over because I enjoyed it sooooooo much!  “Maybe some galaxies or a planetary nebulae next time?!”  Whoa, let’s not get to crazy.

How did I forget to commemorate Yuri Gagarin’s 51 year old flight on April 12?!  Well, here’s an attempt to do something…commemorative-y.

This is me practicing “landscapes.”  It’s based on an picture I took when my dad and I walked out to the beach last year.

Sorry for the delayed posting. I know you noticed. I went to a drawing night at the very cool 3rd Coast Comic Shop after watching an interesting panel discussion with Geof Darrow and Neil Adams.  Neil mostly rambled about how there is “room for everyone in comics now,” which seems like a positive way of saying it’s an oversaturated market.  Oh well.  I shook hands with both artists hoping to syphon off some of their talent.  It’s what I’d like to call a “quality day.”

These technically still count as “sketches,” right?  Here’s the 95% done model of the Member’s Lounge at the Art Institute of Chicago.  It’s still rough but it will serve my purposes.  Either way, Sketch Up is fun to use!

Here’s a sneak peak at the final(?) poster for the Sklar Brothers show at the Norman Music Festival.

This is a model I made in Sketch Up depicting where I work, the Member Lounge at the Art Institute of Chicago.  It’s about 40% done.  I made everything except the Barcelona Chairs.  Maybe I’ll post the final if it takes looks dramatically different.

Samantha Shank was talking about her visit to an abandoned canoeing camp last week. This sounded like the creepiest place ever so I did a quick post-it note drawing of how I envisioned it looking.
